Amarfi obtained her BA from St Joseph’s University with a focus on psychology and philosophy. Continuing her higher learning education at NYU, Amarfi completed her Master’s Dual Degree in Counseling for Mental Health and Wellness; LGBT Health, Education, and Social Services.

Amarfi strongly believes in the power of story-telling, especially among communities whose voices have been oppressed. In this way, Amarfi hopes to co-create a space where clients’ identities are affirmed and celebrated. As part of working from an integrative and client-centered approach, she sees the benefit in the use of Narrative Therapy and a Strength-based framework as empowerment tools. She also draws from IFS, specifically Parts Work, and incorporates innovative mindfulness practices that allow a connection between the body and mind.

Intentionally, Amarfi pays close attention to intersectionality. In collaboration with the client, she invites the individual to work towards identifying how each unique identity impacts the individual’s self-concept in relation to the world.

In her spare time, through dancing, she connects with her inner self by closing the gap between the body and mind and especially enjoys contemporary and lyrical.
