Sanjana is a Clinical Intern at Embodied Mind Master’s pursuing her Master’s in Counseling for Mental Health and Wellness at NYU. She received a BS in Psychology from Women’s Christian College, India. Before joining NYU she worked with the Schizophrenia Research Foundation in India, where she contributed to various programs that catered to the development of the mental well-being of young adults. She also does research work with the Advocacy for Community-based Trauma Studies lab at NYU and has been a part of assisting a group for veterans and also developing scales for assessing safety for domestic violence survivors. Apart from this Sanjana is involved in a pilot program at NYU which enables creating safe spaces for empathetic listening for the student community.

Sanjana believes that everyone has a sense of goodness and the context in which they are in as well as their past experiences can be a part of how one’s behavior manifests. She believes in a collaborative, empathetic, and attuned therapeutic process that is client-centered and driven. Sanjana uses an integrative approach to therapy with  trauma and attachment informed lenses drawing from various modalities including Cognitive-Behavioral, Psychodynamic, and Mindfulness-based techniques, 

She focuses on working with adults addressing anxiety, intimacy and relationship challenges, and adjustment difficulties. 

Outside her work, Sanjana loves to cook, bake, sing, watch movies and enjoy time with friends and family.
