What is group therapy?
Group therapy is an opportunity to build connections, move through isolation, find hope, share empathy, and explore social dynamics. Group therapy at Embodied Mind follows the “process group” therapy model. In this kind of group therapy, interpersonal dynamics between members, not just the conversation topic at hand, are an important part of the process. Over time, group members develop a greater self-awareness of their relationship patterns, core values, and even identities as they forge bonds with group members.
Group therapy can seem uncomfortable or awkward at first, but the experience can be incredibly rewarding for those who commit to the process. All groups at Embodied Mind are led by group leaders who receive weekly supervision and have experience in group dynamics.
Men’s groups at embodied mind
Group therapy for men can be a powerful way for men to gain confidence and find support. The spaces for men to connect with one another honestly, openly, and vulnerably are few and far between. Men’s Groups at Embodied Mind seek to fill that gap and offer men a space to explore life as men in a curious yet caring therapeutic environment.
Men’s Weekend RESET, Spring 2024
We are excited to host an in-person, weekend long Men’s Reset from May 10–12, 2024 in beautiful Western Massachusetts. The experience will include opportunities for guided individual reflection, mindfulness, group sessions, breathwork, and more.
Chronic Pain groups at embodied mind
Living with chronic pain can be an isolating experience, especially in a culture that minimizes and marginalizes the experience of those with “invisible” pain or chronic illness. This group is a space for people to process, voice frustration, build community, and grow in their ability to live fully with chronic pain or illness.
